Eluan Village 鵝鑾里
Erluan Village (Erluan, Erluanbi) also known as Suyd-hoeckc by the Dutch, belonged to Zhì-Hòu Village during the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty.
During the Japanese colonial period, it was part of “Erluan Nose Township” and is the southernmost village in Taiwan.
The Taiwan Strait borders it to the west, the Bashi Channel to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the east, with three sides surrounded by the sea.
It is adjacent to Kenting Village and Manzhou Township to the north.
The village covers an area of 15.6845 square kilometers and has a population of 1245 people.
The village boasts diverse geographical features such as plateaus, grasslands, and coral reef formations.
As a result, in addition to engaging in agriculture, forestry, fishing, and animal husbandry, the residents have also transitioned to earning a living through the tourism industry.
The tourism industry is particularly developed in this village, as it is the southernmost village of Kenting National Park and the southernmost village of Taiwan itself.
Eluanbi is the place where “classic” Kenting, with iconic beaches such as Nanwan and Xiaowan, turns into what some call the wild side of the Kenting – Manzhou Township.
Eluanbi is the home of such well-known Kenting landmarks as Eluanbi Lighthouse, Eluanbi Park, Longpan Park, Southernmost Point of Taiwan, and even Manzhou Beach, while it bears the name of Manzhou actually formally within the borders of Eluanbi village, and really a lot of other attractions and landmarks you can see below, there is really a lot to do and see in this village.
