Wenquan Village 溫泉村

Wenquan village is surrounded by mountains and situated along the Sichong Creek. It’s a well-known location for the Sichong Creek Hot Spring Area, one of Taiwan’s four major hot springs, along with Yangmingshan, Beitou, and Guanziling.

The hot spring in Wenquan area originates from the base of Shihmuyu Mountain and is a sodium bicarbonate alkaline spring. It has healing properties for various ailments and is even drinkable. There are numerous resorts in the hot spring area for visitors.

However, don’t forget that the village also has public bathhouses in the village, which is also a good option and worth trying.

Within the Wenquan village, there’s the Shihmuyu Creek Forest Management Station and Sichongxi Elementary School. A renowned local product of Wenquan village is the hot spring-boiled red yolk duck egg, a distinct specialty made with hot spring water. Another famous product is the Sizhong Creek Hot Spring Watermelon, cultivated in winter and worth returning to enjoy.
