The National Day 4-day holiday begins tomorrow, Kenting and Xiaoliuqiu, popular domestic tourist destinations in Pingtung, were initially welcoming nearly full bookings for glory in the past two days. The Typhoon Koinu severely hit the Hengchun Peninsula yesterday. Manzhou Township experienced a major power outage due to the collapse of 43 utility poles, and the local Kentington Resort has nearly half of its bookings postponed or canceled.

It’s roughly estimated that about 20% of bookings in homestays on the Hengchun Peninsula are postponed or canceled, with minimal impact on hotels; although the ferry service between Xiaoliuqiu and Donggang is resuming tomorrow, there are still some tourists hesitating, resulting in about 20% postponement or cancellation of bookings.
