Last night around 11 p.m., a car fire incident occurred on the northbound section of Provincial Highway 1 台1線 in Fangshan, Pingtung. A 34-year-old man surnamed Ling, while driving past Neishih Elementary School (內獅國小), is suspected of not paying attention to the road conditions and crashed into two small trucks waiting at a red light ahead. The collision caused Ling’s car to catch fire. The fire department was alerted and dispatched 5 vehicles and 10 personnel to the scene. The accident resulted in injuries to Ling, the driver of the middle truck surnamed Chen, and two passengers. All four were sent to the hospital with no serious injuries. None of the drivers were under the influence of alcohol. The detailed cause of the accident is pending police investigation.

The police stated that the 34-year-old man surnamed Ling was driving from north to south along Taiwan Route 1 in Fangshan Township, Pingtung County, last night around 11 p.m. Near Neishih Elementary School, he is suspected of not noticing the road conditions ahead and accidentally crashed into two small trucks that were stopped for a red light. His car’s front was completely destroyed, bursting into flames, and quickly turned into a large fireball. The authorities were immediately notified for assistance.

The fire department reported that they received a call from the public at 11:15 p.m. last night about a car on fire in front of Neishih Elementary School on Taiwan Provincial Highway 1 in Fangshan Township. Teams from Fangliao and Fangshan were dispatched, totaling 5 vehicles and 10 people, who immediately began firefighting efforts.

The accident caused minor abrasions to the 34-year-old man surnamed Ling, a left leg abrasion to the 34-year-old man surnamed Chen, chest pain to a 60-year-old woman surnamed Pan, and a forehead laceration to a 55-year-old woman surnamed Pan. All four individuals were conscious and were sent to the hospital with no life-threatening injuries. The detailed cause of the accident is pending police investigation for clarification.
