This is where it gets terrifying to follow daily Kenting news, as I do.
This particular hotel, called Hayata Hotel in Hongchaikeng Fishing Harbor – I was staying there last month (at the time I am writing this), and seeing it on fire like this, is heartbreaking.
A sudden fire broke out this afternoon at a private homestay near the Hongchaikeng Fishing Port in Kenting. A tourist noticed flames coming out from the balcony on the second floor of the homestay and immediately called for help.
Workers conducting construction on the rooftop quickly abandoned their work and rushed to extinguish the fire. Some people noticed that guests were still staying on the third floor, and as the fire began to spread, people outside shouted for them to evacuate.
Fortunately, the staff members managed to put out the fire independently, and it did not spread, causing only a false alarm.
This privately-owned hotel located near Hongchaikeng in Kenting has a white exterior with each room featuring a balcony.
The cause of the sudden fire is still under investigation. Fortunately, this fire incident was witnessed by passing tourists who promptly extinguished it, preventing it from spreading.
The Hengchun Fire Brigade stated that since the fire was put out by individuals, they will visit the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
