Dolphins have surprisingly been spotted in the waters of Nanwan, Kenting, and they even interact with the public during their swim. Yesterday afternoon, while some people were relaxing on their surfboards, they suddenly noticed a dolphin swimming beside them. Many people have witnessed its presence these past few days.

From the footage, you can see a young boy lying on his surfboard, swimming along but constantly staring at the sea next to him. A young dolphin appeared beside him, accompanying him for some time before departing. This isn’t the first time locals have reported seeing dolphins.

Witnesses said that it seemed as if it was sick and had been dragged here. It looked like a dolphin, not like a shark. It probably was just a young one. As I approached it, it slowly swam forward, moving outward, and eventually swam away.
It turns out that this dolphin is suspected to have appeared in the waters of Kenting Nanwan since the 18th of October, and was spotted by many water activity operators. On the afternoon of the 19th, it came even closer to the swimming area, coming very close to the locals playing in the water, even swimming alongside a young boy surfing for a while. Currently, at first glance, the dolphin does not appear to have any external injuries. The Kenting National Park Management Office also reminds visitors to keep their distance and not get too close to avoid disturbing the wild dolphin. They also notify the marine patrol units or Kenting National Park for further handling.
This case reminds me of another case that happened earlier this year when a shark was spotted in Hongchaikeng Fishing Harbor hiding from the typhoon.
