Amida Elf Valley Manor Park - A Place to Stop on the way to Kenting

Chances are that you are not permanently staying in Kenting, Kenting National Park, or at least in Hengchun city. In this case, almost certainly you are going to Kenting down from the north, and usually, it will be a long drive – it takes around 2-hour drive by car from Kaohsiung to Kenting, around 4 hours drive from Taichung and 5 hours and 50 minutes (!) From Taipei to Kenting.

And these times are non-stop drives – you sure will be stopping for rest, or eating lunch.

The key here is – actually, you should not set your GPS with a direct drive to the Kenting, and here is why.

First, Kenting as such is actually a relatively small village, and not a city itself (we explain this in more detail here), and actually, when people say in Taiwan, let’s go to Kenting – they mean the whole area down in the extreme south of Taiwan, which actually have 52 areas to explore!

This means that your Kenting mood, can be set much sooner, and can start for example in this A-jies cafe truck in the Fangshan area, or maybe you want to sit at Hetian cafe, and look at Turtle rock?

However, if you take a little circle, which actually for the time will not lose too much, you might want to explore Xinpi (Sinpi) area which offers several interesting objects to explore and one of them is Amida Elf Valley Park, or if we try to translate their rather complex Chinese name – 艾米達精靈谷茶樹莊園, then it would come up with something like Amida Elf Valley Tea Tree Manor.

This is a park with a paid entrance – where you need to pay (at the time of writing this) NTD 150 from a person, and then 50 NTD, you can get back refunded in the cafe, where you can spend it on some drinks or snacks.

Park is a theme park, that features various fairy tale animals, elves, gnomes, dwarfs – you get the idea – to resemble a fairy tale garden with a pretty nice and sophisticated landscape design and much effort to keep all those plants and ditches green and nice to walk through, since the price.

This actually is quite common now in Kenting, for example, Ocean Day By Day Park in Manzhou, also has an entrance fee, which later you can spend at the cafe.

Once you enter the park, first you might want (if you are thirsty enough) go to spend your “credit” at the cafe, which is just near the entrance.

Check out our Virtual 360° Tour, and 360° Video below to get a feel inside there.

Once you walk around the park, you can explore various installations, such as dwarf houses, snails, etc.

There are also some small animals to feed.
