At 00:13 today, the Pingtung County Fire Department received a report that a group of six junior high school students from Hualien County, on their graduation trip, suddenly exhibited symptoms of agitation, convulsions, nausea, crying, and weakness while at a hotel. The group, consisting of five females and one male, were all conscious but physically weak. Some students reported seeing an unidentified object in the room, prompting an investigation by the police.

According to the police investigation, the teacher mentioned that the five students, including one surnamed Chen, began showing unexplained symptoms of vomiting, convulsions, and trembling after returning to their hotel room from Kenting Main Street. The Fire Department reported that they received the call at 00:13 about six students experiencing unexplained emotional agitation during their graduation trip in Kenting. Ambulances from Hengchun, Kenting, Checheng, and Manzhou, totaling four vehicles and eight personnel, were dispatched. By 00:21, they reported that there were five junior high students at the scene—five females and one male—showing signs of agitation, crying, and weakness. Six patients were transported by ambulance; one to Hengchun Hospital, two to Nanmen Hospital, and three to Hengchun Christian Hospital for treatment. All patients were conscious and stable, but exhibited weakness, trembling, and nausea.
