EBC news reports, that everyone was terrified when they saw many police officers, and they quickly complied.
These people are all involved in the fraudulent telecom room. They use scam methods to deceive mainland Chinese citizens.
The total number of victims is estimated to be over a hundred, with the total amount of fraud exceeding 30 million. In total, nine individuals were apprehended.
They would rent a guesthouse in Kenting for NTD 8,000 per day and change locations every month, but the police eventually arrested them.
Fraudsters complied quickly with police orders to lay down on the ground
Recently, according to the intelligence report, there was a fraudulent telecom room that operated by taking advantage of the off-peak season in tourism. They would violently take over guesthouses by offering high overnight rental fees. They implemented strict access control measures to prevent members from freely entering or leaving, and they confiscated their phones to centralize the fraudulent operations.
Finally, the police confiscated 64 mobile phones, laptops, and other related equipment at the scene, as well as a small quantity of drugs and even a speedboat.
The entire case will be handed over to the Pingtung District Prosecutor’s Office for investigation on charges of fraud organization, obstruction of freedom, and other related offenses.
