Puqian Village 埔墘村
Puqian village is located in the southern part of Checheng Township, with Sheliau Elementary School as a prominent landmark. The Nine-Heavens Temple, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin) as the main deity and Marshal God as a secondary deity, is Puqian Village’s primary place of worship. February 19th marks the temple’s anniversary celebration. It serves as the central place of worship for the Puqian villagers.
Additionally, the Armed Forces Training Institute is situated within Puqian village, and Puqian village is also part of the Kenting National Park area.
Most villagers are engaged in agriculture, primarily cultivating rice onions, and raising black-feathered chickens.
Many fishermen from our village participate in deep-sea fishing. Most of the younger generation has moved to work in other places, but completing the Marine Biology Museum in Houwan Village has boosted local tourism.
