As typhoon Haikui approaches Kenting, the winds are becoming quite noticeable here at Longtan Park in Kenting. Therefore, on the Hengchun Peninsula, we are experiencing gusts of up to six levels, says TVBS reporter in latest newscast:
The wind has clearly intensified, and tourists are using umbrellas to observe, almost being blown away by the wind. Previously, their travel plans were canceled due to Typhoon Saola, and now they’ve encountered this one again.

Originally, tourists came here to Kenting avoid the storm by heading south, but it seems we couldn’t escape it after all.
They can’t go for a swim now, so they have to call it quits early. Twenty friends and family from Taichung even chartered a tour bus to come here for a trip. They had all our accommodations booked before they announced the suspension of activities, so our vacation plans have gone down the drain.

The typhoon disrupted tourists’ plans and greatly affected the business of the shops on Kenting’s main street, as we reported earlier today.
