Tianzhong Village 田中村
Tianzhong Village is located to the north of Checheng Township and is traversed by the Ping-E Highway. Within the village, you can find the Taiwan Power Company Checheng Township Service Center and the Hengchun Irrigation Association Workstation.
The most representative feature is the “Lin Family Ancestral Shrine,” originally built during the 5th year of the Qing dynasty’s Jiaqing era to honor the descendants of Gongye Lin Wenzhi. It has a history of over 200 years. Additionally, the Central Long Gong Temple temple in the upper part of Tianzhong is dedicated to the deity Chifu Qianshi, with a grand ceremony held on January 18th and June 18th every year.
Previously, due to its proximity to the sea, Tianzhong had many fishermen who relied on the sea for their livelihoods. However, nowadays, villagers are primarily engaged in agriculture, focusing on three crops per year. The village mainly cultivates two seasons of rice and one season of miscellaneous crops, with onions being the primary crop.
